Moorestown, NJ – December 2025
Top Rack Technology at RE+ Midwest 2025 is pleased to share highlights from our recent participation at the event, held December 3-4 at the Schaumburg Convention Center in Chicago. The exhibition brought together solar professionals from across the region to explore emerging products, share installation insights, and discuss the evolving needs of the Midwest solar market.
The two-day gathering brought together more than 100 exhibitors and over 2,000 registered attendees, creating a dynamic space for industry professionals to exchange ideas, explore new technologies, and continue advancing the renewable energy landscape in the Midwest.
For TRT, RE+ Midwest provided an invaluable opportunity to meet installers, distributors, and project developers face-to-face, offering live demonstrations of our rooftop mounting solutions and receiving direct feedback from the people who rely on efficient, dependable hardware every day.
Meeting Installers Where It Matters Most

Throughout the event, our booth saw strong, consistent engagement. Attendees were eager to get hands-on time with our hardware and speak directly with our team about how our mounting solutions fit into their project workflows. Installers highlighted a few recurring priorities:
- Reliability in diverse weather conditions
- Straightforward installation steps
- Durable materials that hold up over time
- Hardware that reduces guesswork on the roof
These conversations reinforced the core principles behind every TRT system. Whether an installer is working in coastal environments, snowy Midwest regions, or markets with complex building requirements, the mounting hardware must perform consistently while keeping the installation process clear and manageable.
Our team welcomed every opportunity to walk through system features, answer technical questions, and understand the challenges contractors are currently facing in the field.
Showcasing TRT’s FPA-Approved Rooftop Systems
This year’s event was particularly meaningful as it marked the first major tradeshow appearance for TRT following the Florida Product Approval (FPA) of our TRT-01 Rail-less System and TRT-02 Rail-Base System. Many attendees recognized the significance of this achievement, especially those familiar with Florida’s rigorous structural and environmental standards.
At the booth, we highlighted several benefits that resonated strongly with visitors:
- FPA approval reflects strong performance under demanding wind and weather conditions
- The approval can streamline permitting in jurisdictions that accept Florida evaluations
- Installers gain additional confidence knowing the systems have passed stringent review
- TRT’s PE-certified documentation supports project planning and compliance
Importantly, our team ensured clarity on installation expectations. Visitors were reminded that TRT systems are designed to keep the installation process simple and efficient, without unnecessary components or additional steps.
We clearly communicated that:
TRT01 and TRT02 do not require flashing, do not require pilot holes, and should not be paired with silicone sealants
This helped eliminate confusion, especially among attendees comparing our systems to more traditional solar mounting solutions.
Hands-On Demonstrations: What Installers Appreciated Most

Live demonstrations at the booth gave installers the chance to see firsthand how TRT mounting systems are assembled, how components interface, and how our hardware supports predictable installation flow across different rooftop environments.
Visitors expressed strong interest in the following system attributes:
TRT-01 Rail-less Base System
- Compact, efficient hardware layout
- Simple component interface that minimizes on-roof decisions
- Clean appearance with a design that supports consistent alignment
Many installers appreciated how the rail-less configuration reduces material handling and maintains clear installation order without adding complexity.
TRT-02 Rail-Base System
- Strong, corrosion-resistant materials
- Familiar rail-based architecture paired with modern refinements
- Clean finish and organized component arrangement
Installers who regularly work on larger residential or light commercial roofs valued the system’s adaptable design and dependable hardware structure.
Across all conversations, visitors emphasized that systems with fewer unnecessary steps, notably ones that avoid extra parts, avoid drilling pilot holes, and avoid sealants incompatible with butyl, help keep installation time predictable and reduce the likelihood of errors on the roof.
Building Connections Across the Midwest Solar Market
The Midwest continues to be an expanding region for solar deployment, with many contractors at the event reporting steady growth in both residential and commercial installations. The environmental diversity of the region, from heavy snowfall to seasonal wind exposure, means installers actively seek mounting systems designed to handle real-world conditions.
Discussions throughout the event highlighted several market-specific priorities:
- Dependable hardware that remains stable through seasonal changes
- Straightforward installation sequencing that saves time in colder months
- Clear, concise documentation for inspectors and permitting departments
- Systems backed by trusted engineering foundations
Many attendees expressed interest in how TRT’s systems can support their long-term project portfolios, especially as demand grows for rooftop installations that balance durability, ease of use, and strong material performance.
A Lively and Productive Tradeshow Experience

Beyond the individual meetings at our booth, the event offered a lively environment filled with technical sessions, product showcases, panel discussions, and informal networking. Exhibit halls remained busy throughout both days, with visitors stopping by to explore new technologies and discuss emerging trends in rooftop solar.
Photos from the event captured:
- Installers reviewing the TRT01 and TRT02 systems
- One-on-one discussions with our product and engineering teams
- Attendees comparing system features and installation flow
- Full crowds during key conference sessions
We are grateful for the strong interest and the many thoughtful conversations that took place. Each interaction helps us better understand what installers need from mounting hardware, and what challenges they want manufacturers to address.
